Description:

Corn plastic is biodegradable and is a renewable resource. PLA (corn resin) is made by a process that isolates the cornstarch stored in corn kernels and converts it into sugars.

During a process of fermentation and separation the sugars become lactic acid, which is used to create the plastic referred to as PLA.
